Week 9 1500x961 - Chronogolf Tour: Road to Orlando Pt.9

Spotlight Partner Course: Ole Monterey

For our ninth stop, we are heading to the Ole Monterey Golf Club. Built in 1920, it’s the second oldest club in the Roanoke Valley. The par 71 golf course is located within city limits and offers postcard-like views of the Mill Mountain Star, the Blue Ridge Mountains as well as Downtown Roanoke. Ole Monterey Golf Club has been using Chronogolf PRO since 2014.

Being the only public golf course in the Roanoke Valley, the Ole Monterey Golf Club prides itself in the way it maintains its course and the way it treats its customers. The well-preserved small greens, tight fairways, five sets of tees and the creeping out of bounds create a unique golfing experience for players of every level.

Ole Monterey has a rich history in the Valley, where a great number of senior players started by working as caddies. The golf course also hosted the Roanoke Valley Open in the 1960s, as well as some of the friendly matches Sam Snead and Arnold Palmer played against each other in the same period.

Spotlight Destination Course: Pete Dye’s The River Course

Today’s destination course is the world-renowned Pete Dye’s The River Course. This links-style course is located only a short 1-hour drive from the Roanoke Valley region. The course is named “The River” since 14 of its 18 holes offer views on the pristine New River, and eight are played directly right by it. Imagine hearing the river’s soft rumble while you play… Most people simply say, “Wow!”

ABOUT ROAD TO ORLANDO

2016 has been a huge year for Chronogolf, thus far. We raised our second round of financing, signed a ton of new courses all over the world, and grew our sales and engineering with rockstar talent. We want to finish the year off strong, and kickstart 2017 in Orlando, FL with a bang.

It will be our first time exhibiting at the show, so we really want to make an experience out of it. Catch us at booth #3005 in the Technology Pavilion.
