The Pacific Northwest PGA Merchandise Show will take place in the Greater Tacoma Convention and Trade Center in Tacoma, Washington. The show floor will be open for buyers on October 23 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and October 24 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
The event will feature over 100 booths of golf-related goods, representing 250 companies. As a golf manager, you’ll be able to walk the floor and find everything you need for your operation. This is an excellent opportunity for you to discover new products and compare competing products with each other.
Making purchase decisions based solely on what salespeople and internet reviews tell you is challenging, but being able to see the products in hand and interact with them will give you much more confidence when choosing which products to spend your hard-earned money on.
You’ll be able to stock up on all of the items you’re going to need for next season, so make sure that you bring a tablet with you if you’re using a cloud-based club management software. You can check inventory levels on site and update them as you make purchases. Inventory management tools are incredibly powerful, you’ll save so much time, effort, and money when your POS is linked to your management software.
If you’re still using legacy software, you’ll need to bring a copy of your manual inventory reports. Take the time to make sure that these reports are up-to-date and organized before you go to the convention center, having inaccurate data could lead you to order the wrong amount of stock.
The convention will host education sessions on each of the three days. Make sure to take full advantage of the insights being provided by thought leaders in the industry, the knowledge you bring back to your course will pay off.
On October 22nd from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, a seminar will be given on leadership tools for golf pros. If you’re a golf course operator, it’s a great idea to attend this event with your pro. Monte Koch, PGA Certified Professional, will go through five tools that pros can use to make more money for both themselves and their golf operation. Better collaboration with your pros creates a win-win situation.
On October 23, from 8:00 am to 9:00 am, Jim Hackenberg and Birk Nelson will give a session on how to improve your golf swing. If you’re looking to up your game, learning about the proper swing plane, momentum management, and the kinematic sequence will help you out.
On October 24, you can attend a seminar from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on the changes to the rules of golf in 2019. This is not only helpful from a player’s standpoint but understanding all the rule changes is a must for operators as well. Passing this knowledge on to your staff means that they’ll be able to impress your customers who may have questions. Don't forget your notepad!
