The Pacific Northwest PGA Merchandise Show will take place at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon. The show floor will be open for buyers on October 15 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and October 16 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
The event will feature over 100 booths of golf-related goods, representing 250 companies. As a golf manager, you’ll be able to walk the floor and find everything you need for your operation. This is an excellent opportunity for you to discover new products and compare competing products with each other.
Making purchase decisions based solely on what salespeople and internet reviews tell you is challenging, but being able to see the products in hand and interact with them will give you much more confidence when choosing which products to spend your hard-earned money on.
You’ll be able to stock up on all of the items you’re going to need for next season, so make sure that you bring a tablet with you if you’re using a cloud-based club management software. You can check inventory levels on site and update them as you make purchases. Inventory management tools are incredibly powerful, you’ll save so much time, effort, and money when your POS is linked to your management software.
If you’re still using legacy software, you’ll need to bring a copy of your manual inventory reports. Take the time to make sure that these reports are up-to-date and organized before you go to the convention center, having inaccurate data could lead you to order the wrong amount of stock.
The convention will host education sessions on each of the three days. Make sure to take full advantage of the insights being provided by thought leaders in the industry, the knowledge you bring back to your course will pay off.
On October 14th from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, a seminar will be given on improve your teaching using The Golfing Machine and technology. If you’re a golf course operator, it’s a great idea to attend this event with your pro. Doug DuChateau, who established the Precision Golf School at Fiddler's Green, will go through the influence of The Golfing Machine in instructional history, some of it’s great practitioners and players and share ideas through which your teaching can become more efficient, systematic and effective.
On October 16, you can attend a seminar from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on getting the maximum value out of your career (now & for your future). This interactive workshop-style seminar given by Monte Koch, PGA Career Consultant and Business Coach, and Tim McElhinny, PGA McElhinny Professional Services, is an excellent professional development opportunity to help “sharpen your saw” and “build your own career” for lasting success.
